Hope your all having a safe and relaxing summer ! I met Steve Wozinak (co-founder of Apple Computers) at an event few months back. It was an honor to meet the legend. Here at Loop we have been very busy with our next Apple Business Expo on September 29th in Miami. This show will be our largest expo to date. We have already over 350 business attendee's coming to the Expo from all over Florida and east coast. I organized this event to be a business solution driven format for the business end user. There are a lot of events that are too product focused. The Apple Business Expo in Miami will launch the new area for iPhone/iPad developers showcasing their newest apps for the business user. We will have keynote speakers from the Apple business industry speaking at the event about new productive business practices with your Mac. Have a safe August and enjoy the weather. See you all at the Apple Business Expo next month in Miami ! Please make sure you register for the expo at http://www.applebusinessexpo.com

The new Mac Pro went on sale earlier this month. Like the previous iteration, there is a Quad-Core model, and an eight-core (comprised of two Quad-Core modules). Unlike the previous iteration, however, Apple has released at the top end a 12-core model, comprised of two 6-core modules, bringing screaming speed to the Mac Pro line. This unit is perfect for your high-end Photoshop work, as well as audio and video production that can test even the most advanced systems. It's all based on the "Nehlem" and "Westmere" processors, that take full advantage of features such as level 3 caching on a single die. The new Mac Pro can deliver speeds up to 1.5x the previous generation.
Another addition to the new Mac Pro line is the ability to run solid-state hard drives. The capacity of these drives is a little smaller than you might expect (they max out at 512GB) but what you lose in capacity you more than make up for in speed. Solid-state is the future of computer storage because, unlike traditional disk-based drives, there are no physical parts which allow them to transfer data up to twice as fast. These drives offer incredible performance for operations such as video encoding, especially when put into a RAID formation. And the best part is you aren't limited to one type of drive -- you can mix solid-state with your old disk-based drives for a combination of speed and economy.
The new Mac Pro can be configured with the following options to provide you with the right system for your use:
- Quad-core, 6-core, 8-core, and 12-core processing
- Memory up to 32GB
- Hard drive storage up to 8TB
- Solid-state storage up to 2TB
- Graphics card options
- Mac Pro RAID Card
